Dairies Stop Selling Sweets to Students in School Uniform

The student council at Rhode Streeet School approached local dairy owners in 2014 and asked them to refrain from selling lollies and sugar-sweetened drinks to students in school uniform. Three local dairies agreed and principal, Shane Ngatai, has noted visible reductions in the consumption of lollies and sugar-sweetened beverages on site. He has noted a positive shift in the attitudes of the students and a reduction in the amount of waste on school grounds. Ka pai!
