The Healthy Future Families (HFF) Trust work with the Garden to Table Trust to implement the Garden to Table Programme at four Wellington Primary Schools. Through fundraising activities we have raised money to support the costs of setting up and embedding the programme in four low decile schools.

We also provide curriculum-linked healthy lifestyle and diabetes prevention education by invitation for primary and secondary schools.

The HFF Trust is run by a passionate group of health professional volunteers. We are a registered charity formed in 2013 by a group of health professionals who share a concern about the number of overweight children being seen in clinical practice, and who are developing health problems such as type 2 diabetes as a result of their excess weight. Our vision is for all New Zealand children to live in an environment that enables and supports healthy eating and physical activity patterns. We aim to achieve this by raising awareness of the factors that are contributing to the increasing incidence of obesity and type 2 diabetes in New Zealand children, advocating for change in the current obesogenic environment, carrying out health promotion activities and supporting health initiatives that will contribute to a reducing obesity and type 2 diabetes in the future.
